The Origin of the Name

During that year of multiple conversations, while the crisis was shaking economies worldwide, we made 3 significant steps.
The first one was a real change of paradigm, realizing that our very Italian project should not be called, as we all wanted, “Terzo Rinascimento”; but immediately assume the characteristics of movement that, strong of the Italian experience, aimed at changing the World.

The Choice of the name “The Renaissance Link” was strongly supported by the coincidental launch of Richard Sennet’s book “The Craftsman” in Italy.
Many of us participated at the “meet the author” event in Feltrinelli and were convinced that the Italian experiences of art and design would be crucial to change the economy’s direction and conquer the crisis.

Fundamental would also be the strong bond with history and the territory of Italian enterprises, what Sennet refers to as the Italian way.
This meeting gave validity to our assumptions and was proof that the themes we were considering were simultaneously being discussed by the international community, thus the need of The Renaissance Link to be an international movement.
